About

Native to south-central Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia, melissa is an aromatic perennial herb in the mint family. Also known as lemon balm, the use of this herb extends back at least 2,000 years to Ancient Greece and Rome, where it was referred to colloquially as "honey-leaf" and "the elixir of life."
